Estate Administration

When a family member dies, their assets and belongings must pass to someone.  Sometimes assets will pass to a surviving joint owner on an asset.  Sometimes assets will pass to the beneficiary listed on the contract or policy.  Other times, the assets will pass according to the terms of the person’s Last Will and Testament.  In some cases, the decedent did not have a Will and the State’s intestacy laws must be followed.

In most cases, the surviving family is faced with a complicated process.  There are deadlines to meet, complicated forms to file, legal requirements, creditors to satisfy and beneficiaries with questions.

The Malee Law Firm is here to help.  We work with executors, trustees, beneficiaries to navigate this complicated system.  Our goal is to finish the estate in a timely manner, get the assets to the beneficiaries, and successfully follow the expressed wishes of the decedent.
